"Can I… touch you?"

When Tommy looked at her a little weirdly as words left her lips, she realized how…weird it probably sounded and hastily added, " Not like, in THAT way, of course! Just, like- maybe a hand on your shoulder, or something. You looked like you could use it,"

Tommy stared at her slightly panicked reaction toward whatever is wrong with his mind, a small chuckle escaping him unnoticed. Making eye contact with Katherine again, he nodded his consent.

Katherine got up from her seat opposite him and sat next to him. Her arm, although slowly, wrapped itself around his shoulder. They then pulled him closer to her, until his head is resting on her shoulder. "Is- is this ok, bud?" The fear of pushing Tommy's boundaries crept up on her when his body froze at the contact.

After a long, long moment of silence, he nodded, although a bit hesitantly.

"You sure, bud? I can stop if you want-"

"No no, it's fine, really! Just- I'm just not used to anyone other than them touching me…" his voice went a little…softer, almost hurt kind of tone.

She decided that she hated that tone on him.

She pulled him closer to cuddle. He yelped, but soon felt comfortable enough to melt into her touch and lazily cuddled her back.

The view up there on the second-floor balcony is beautiful, really. They watched as the villagers traded with each other--somebody just traded three whole stacks of quartz for an emerald, Tommy pointed out--, the children either making flower crowns, reading, drawing, or playing with one another. They watched as the farmers reaped today's crop to sell tomorrow, as the beekeepers locked the doors to the bee sanctuary, as everyone finally noticed that the sun was setting and they all would have to go inside now, especially the children.

"Y'know, Toms, we should also head back inside now," Katherine commented when she noticed that they were still in the comfort of the others' touches and presence.

The nickname flew over in Tommy's brain as he whined and complained that, "it's comfyyyyyyyy," and "you lit up this place enough, mobs won't spawn if we stay a bit longer," the last sentence was followed by an attack with the biggest, saddest puppy eyes Katherine has ever seen when she looked at him.

"Do not fall for this trick, Katherine." The voice of a previous Guardian whispered inside her brain when her defense against the puppy eyes faltered.

"As much as I'd love to stay and cuddle here with you, rosebud, we don't wanna make your husbands worry and miss dinner, do we?" She chuckled as she lifted Tommy to put his body beside her so that she could get up and sweep the dirt off their skirt.

Tommy froze when the word "husbands" registered in his brain, face going redder than the sleeves of his shirt.

"Wh- husbands?!"

Katherine was confused, as shown by her tone when she said, "Aren't you all married to one another? You all act plenty lovey-dovey whenever you're all around one another,"

"Eh- No- no, we're not married!" He denied her statement, emphasized by the way his hands wave side to side and his head shaking frantically. "Don't get me wrong, Tubbo and Ranboo are married to each other, they're just not married to me," His tone went softer, almost… disappointed when he uttered the last sentence.

"Oh," was all she could say about this whole mutually-pining-idiots disaster. An awkward silence blanketed the once comfortable vibe hanging around them, making the atmosphere so thick you'd have some difficulty slicing it.

"Let's just- let's go inside now-" "Maybe we should go in now-" they both started, causing each other to stop mid-sentence in confusion.

After a few more seconds of silence, Tommy snorted, which then turned into small fits of laughter and caused Katherine to have some of her own giggles.

When the giggle fest finally died down, Katherine asked, "Do you wanna make some stew with me, Tommy?"

Excitement filled his chest. He jumped up and threw his hands in the air, saying, "Queen Katherine is making me her legendary stew, let's fUCKING GOOO!!!"

Katherine giggled and ruffled his hair before immediately sprinting towards an exit.

"LAST TO THE GREENHOUSE IS A ROTTEN GOLDEN APPLE, TOMMY!!"

"HEY, NO FAIR!" he yelled, chasing after them.

Just for fun I assigned the dsmp characters and the few hermicraft members I know of(+ some honorary guests) to empires I think they would belong to.

Rivendell

Philza. The wings, and also I just think he would look neat as an elf.

Jackmanifold, just because I saw that one flower husbands fanart featuring Jack as a stag elf man, and I agreed.

Mumbo Jumbo. Tall and aristocratic. I'm a bit on the fence with this one, I just couldn't think of anything better.

Callahan. Antler boi, also he deserves to be an elf.

The Grimlands

Tubbo. This should be obvious. The kid makes DIY nukes, of course he would be a Grimlander. He would definitely have large burn scars and a robot arm and leg.

Tommy. He could go pretty much anywhere, but I wanted clingyduo. Also, the story potential! Imagine them as 2 steampunk kids. Tubbo makes and sells some pretty damn impressive gadgets so that they can pay for food, while Tommy makes trips to scavenge for the parts needed to make them.

Ranboo. He's not actually a Grimlander and it shows, but Tommy and Tubbo just found him one day and decided to take pity on him. He got no memory of how he got there.

Micheal. He's Tubbo's robot son.

GoodTimesWithScar. You can get really creative with a steampunk wheelchair, plus I can imagine him owning a steampunk shop and being charming and capitalist af.

Fundy. It's the only pro-salmon empire.

Crystal Cliffs

Nikki. I just really want wizard Nikki ok?

Eret. Same reason. She would be royalty as well, but have no actual political power, it's just tradition.

The Lost Empire

Antfrost. If we can have a Tiger Prince we can have a catboy.

RedVelvet. This is the only empire that remotely matches his chaoticness.

House Blossom

Hannah Rose. This one's pretty obvious.

ZombieCleo. I just love the imagery of a flower infested zombie, plus her horror love fits with the whole severed heads thing.

Joe Hills. Where Cleo goes, Joe goes.

The Ocean Empire

Sally the s- oh wait NO

Awesamsude. I just love the imagery of him as an atlantis-type warden with a trident.

Mythland

BBH. Just picture a 7ft demon hybrid blood magic sorcerer that draws the line at swearing.

Punz. Part of the assassin's guild.

Purpled. Also part of the assassin's guild.

Xisuma. I don't know him that well, but I like the idea of him being a professor or architect who does blood magic and pottery on the side.

Gilded Helanthia

TECHNO. It’s perfect. He would be a potato farmer that battles the queen in his spare time. Every now and again he hops on over to Mythland and sacrifices blood sheep to let out steam.

Ponk. Just let them grow their lemon trees in peace.

Quackity. Remember how Pearl made a brewery? Yeah, not every Helanthian is a chill farmer! Some brew their own liquor, open illegal casinos and have a gambling problem!

Pixandria

Mumza. She doesn’t technically live there but she's still the godess of death soooo...

Philza. Yes I know I've already mentioned him, but I’m torn between elf Phil and devout Phil, so now there's two.

The Undergrove

Wilbur Soot. Now I know this might seem strange but consider this: Shrub is friends with Wilbur. Jack is friends with Scott. Scott is friends with Shrub. They all go ghost hunting on the weekends.

George. Mushroom.

Mezalea

Foolish. He's an architect and he gets to live close to the sea.

BduoubleO. He's barely even a citizen, he just dashes around in the moss like a mole.

The Cod Empire

Grian. If you know you know.

Slimecicle. Slime. SLIME. Jimmy will definitley use him as a spy once his villain arc starts.

Traveling between them

Skeppy. He's a messenger! But when he isn't out and about he's crashing at Mythland.

Karl Jacobs. He's a traveling storyteller/prophet!

Cpt. Puffy. She’s a captain dawg, she gotta be out on the sea! She’s either a pirate, a merchant or in the navy, I don’t know which one I like more. When she isn't out on sea tho, she's spending time with her son on the shores of Mezalea.

OK, so I've had this idea that wouldn't fit into a fic, so I tried to make it its own, and, welll.... Currently not working.

So, counting exclamation marks more as commas than fullstops/periods (That's what I usually do when writing) and sliding up to 7....

Laughter fills the air, louder than the whispers, though then shrieks and yells come from the shadows, as a figure, stitched from moonlight and oily shadow, crested in rotting brown and yellow, with blue ink drooling from empty eyes… “Wilbur!” Phil whispers, as Tubbo pulls Ranboo close, as Quackity raises his sword slightly, getting between Karl and the spectre, the voices all cackling and wailing for a second, dying out with the circular pinching of Wilbur’s fingers. “Oh wow! Oh wow! What a sight for sore eyes!” the maddened mix of Ghostbur and Wilbur grins, the familiar motion of running a hand through his hair quick and sporadic, empty pits of ink looking around, grinning under the tears, “Oh wow! You’ve really given L’Manburg a down-grade! Perfect!” “W-Wilbur!” Fundy calls out. “Oh! And everyone here! Everyone! Is here! That’s even Better!” Wilbur continues, turning enough for them to finally see where inky phantom wings, a sickly black and blue, twitch and flap with every motion of the ghost’s form. “Hi, Dad!” he grins, “Hello, son! What a joy to see you, Technoblade!” Wilbur steamrolls, swooping lower, spinning round as he comes to the centre of the clearing, tone light, until it’s not. “Where’s Dream?”

Grian’s eyes finally meet hers, the concentrated scowl sweeping into a familiar, dopey smile, birdsong spilling from her friend’s lips, the Reaper Hybrid tilting her head as she tries to puzzle out her bestie’s words. Grian sings a little more, before hopping further into the forming nest, making a face when he looks up, wings flapping a little, before he looks around, swooping out of the nest and down to the opposite shore, where oak and birch trees stand. Pearl sits on the side of the nest, watching him retrieve oak logs and a blend of oak and birch leaves, soon flying back up again and using the oak logs, remaining fencing and leaves to attach a roof to the nest. Another little song emerges, Grian looking down, up at the wall, before flying from his nest again. Pearl watches him build out his canopy, attaching it to the main building to hang over Grumbot’s head, swooping down once done to trill at the vast machine she had help Grian bring to life in this world. Then, he’s back beside her, settling in the nest, curling up in some of the blankets, loosely draping himself over the side of his nest, head leant on one elbow, eyes slipping closed.

thinking about Jimmy and Tommy interacting in my au.

thinking about how Jimmy looks too similar to Dream for Tommy not to be put on edge. Too much green, mainly, and Gods help Tommy if Jimmy decides to wear a hood that day.

fWhip could talk highly about Jimmy all he wanted, but seeing a man in green with a mask is setting Tommys' anxiety off tenfold. He's uncomfortable. He's distrusting. He's scared.

Then fWhip mentions how fun it is to rile the Codfather up, and Tommy immediately decides to never step foot in the swamp again. Dream was just like that, once, and Tommy was in fWhips' place. Then Dream changed for the worse, and that domino falling led to Tommys' death. He doesn't want to die again.

But Jimmy and Tommy are also so similar.

They both fought tooth and nail for their discs. They both are referred to as annoying and insufferable by their peers, even if for differing reasons. They both have an older sibling they look up to dearly (or at least, Tommy did have one). They're both familiar with the looks of exasperation at their presence from others, the not-so-playful eye rolls, the dismissal from friends, the need to prove themselves.

Jimmy and Tommy could make amazing friends if they weren't scared. If Tommy wasn't scared that Jimmy is another Dream. If Jimmy wasn't scared of fWhips' wrath if he were to upset Tommy. After all, the ravine and stealing his Codfather head was fWhip being playful, what would he do if he was actually angry with Jimmy?

Just, their dynamic is very interesting to me.

Honestly, the partial reason why I'm so invested in Salmon lore in Empires is for a dsmp crossover. And no, it's not what you think. Dsmp lore is not meant to override Empires lore. (Similarly to me crossing it with Hermitcraft, s6 and s7 lore is not meant to override Empires lore. I refuse.)

It's really just Wilbur, whose an Elf from Rivendell, meeting Sally who's a resident from the Grimlands. They got married and had Fundy.

I could have fun here and make it that Sally's family is related to fWhip's, where the Dy family has been working with them in the gunpowder industry for generations. Meanwhile the Sootcrafts are Elven nobility (idk insert arctic empire reference maybe). I could have fun with that.

Fundy spent some of his childhood in Rivendell but studied in the Grimland's most prestigious redstone academy. He still has a lot of miscommunication issues with his dad and grandfather. I think that stays.

He's classmates with Tubbo who's actually his adopted uncle. The both of them don't really like mentioning it since, well they're classmates.

Tubbo's heritage came from the Crystal Cliffs and the Sootcrafts don't really doubt that, but Tubbo felt at home in Rivendell.

He felt even more at home however when he started studying in the Grimlands.

Also random thing. Yeah, uhh. Iskall's one of their professors in the academy. Yeah, idk how else to put that here.

After so many failed business ventures with Mumbo, he decided to go back to teaching. Lucky he was still able to snag a job in the Redstone Tech Academy.

All i know is the Season 9 of Hermitcraft, hc x dsmp crossover and Tilly do us apart. The rest you mention is foreign to me. So yeah and also I agreed that no person should see the entirety of dsmp history. Like damn... many things have occur in a short period of time?!

Glad you've asked! Here is a list of things part of mcyt history that has happened in the last 4 years:

Hermitcraft season 7 will be 4 years old in a month (February 2020)

The dsmp will be 4 too in a few months (April 2020)

Dream SMP War by Sadist, the video that caused one of the largest surges of popularity for the dsmp, turns 4 in August

Doomsday celebrated it's 3rd anniversary about a week ago (6th January 2021)

Yes. Almost ALL of the dsmp story up to that point happened within the span of about 5 months. From the VERY BEGINNING OF THE DISC SAGA TO THE TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF LMANBURG. It all took place from July to early January. What the fuck.

3rd life will be turning 3 in April (April 2021)

Penismp turns 3 in May. I cannot stress this enough. Remember the fake smp that predated goncharov BY A FUCKING YEAR AND A HALF and trended 3rd on Tumblr for 2 days straight??? That was almost 3 years ago now.

Yes, you heard it right, the life series and empires predate season 8! Pearl and Gem became hermits roughly a week AFTER the cactus ring.

June 2021 is ALSO the month where MCC Pride 2021 took place. Y'know, the one with Wilbur's office on fire and technoblade getting nicknamed Tech by grian. THIS IS ALSO turning 3 this year. June 2021 was a wild month.

Techno's escape from prison will be 3 years old this year too. September fucking 2021. It's been 3 years since this happened.

The canary's curse has been a concept in the fandom for a little over 2 years now, following jimmy's final death in last life (early November 2021)

Moon Big also occurred around this time frame, which means it's turning 3 this year!

Mangoball becomes a dsmp fandom staple around early December 2021

The 2 year anniversary of @/chrisrin's curses last life animation is in 2 days! (16th January 2022)

Following the end of empires season 1, hermitcraft season 8 and the lore drought of the dsmp, this is where the big Content Drought of 2022 happens. This is where dreamempirescraft became a thing. This is also where that drawing came from.

Hermitcraft season 9 will also be 2 soon (March 2022). Longest season, everyone.
